women This year I spent Women’s Day with a friend in Wuppertal, a former industrial city with a long line of inspirational & inspiring women including Pina Bausch (dance artist and choreographer), Alice Schwarzer (feminist, writer, publisher), Else Lasker-Schüler (poet and prose writer) and Helene Stöcker (feminst, pacifist and sexual reformer). 96 Yesterday was international women’s day. I celebrated! And I enjoyed feeling part of a global movement!! The Southbank Centre has an amazing festival going on in celebration of the day, the WOW (Women Of the World) Festival – and I was wowed by the contributions I managed to catch.
