summer solstice

it’s been another very busy week and as ever so often i struggled with the growing list of unfinished tasks & lose ends and with far too many things out of my control. i had moments of bliss in the midst of it though – like the live screening from the british museum’s current exhibition of ‘life and death in pompeii and herculanum‘. a great reminder that ultimately many things are out of our control and nature is powerful!

and then sitting outside at the towpath cafe this afternoon with my friend rachel when finally the heavy, sticky clouds of the past 2 weeks burst open into this incredibly alive and joyful unstoppable downpour!! i enjoyed every drop of it and wanted to laugh in bright loud bubbles like the rain was bubbling on the surface of the canal… it was the perfect solstice celebration: new life and new beginnings!
