the drama

the weather was beautifully dramatic this week and i love how my fish eye pictures below look like everything is in turmoil, swaying, tossing, moving – except for the quixotic tower blocks. i’ve had lots of heavy conversations about oppression, sexual violence, faith and aliens with people that try to live a true life with all the turmoils that might bring. i came across this quote from arundhati roy which sums it up for me: this true life.

The only dream worth having is to dream that you will live while you’re alive and die only when you’re dead … which means … To love. To be loved. To never forget your own insignificance. To never get used to the unspeakable violence and the vulgar disparity of life around you. To seek joy in the saddest places. To pursue beauty to its lair. To never simplify what is complicated or complicate what is simple. To respect strength, never power. Above all, to watch. To try and understand. To never look away. And never, never to forget.
