peacefulness

I’ve spent parts of Christmas eve reading a report about the riots in August which reminded of the intensity of those days, the level of anger & hurt on all sides, and the complexity of the questions they continue to bring up. This year has definitely been a year where near-sacred power structures have been shaken quite a bit and things feel very unsettled. As we’re right in the middle of the festive season I hope that as a society we’ll have the courage to be committed to true peace, a peace that includes all people, a peace in the sense of Rumi “there’s a place beyond right and wrong; I’ll meet you there“. This picture is from such a truly peaceful Peace Walk last Sunday from St. Paul’s to the Westminster Peace Camp.
